Art and other indistinct chattering

Home: Welcome

We are again on strict lockdown. I am getting lost in the count/tier. It seems to me, this is too little too late and despite the vaccine news, I think we are in this for a long time. It is sad to not see the family for Christmas etc but hey, there are many people in much worst condition (many are spending this December in refugee camps for example) so I will not complain here about my situation. I just feel stuck, and this is frankly a bit depressing. I dream so much to travel, go anywhere and the lack of perspective of when I will be able to do that again, makes me feel a bit down.

Like in this picture, I would love so much to be in a warm country like Martinique, be able to admire the horizon of the ocean in front of me, feel the sunshine... but we are not really there, we are just a shadow and this a dream only.

Having fun manipulating images for my colleague in Marketing this week, I decided to redesign this website completely. The consequences of the import may be the loss in the quality of the images and also the loss of the extra links, so please let me know if you notice that something may be off!

“I do not photograph architecture. I use it as raw material.”  Ola Kolehmainen

Reading this statement, we better understand the logic of his art : the Finnish photographer focus, not on how the building fit the surroundings or its proportions, but on its ordinary elements composing the structure, the geometry and repetitive patterns. He creates then a sort of abstract picture using a clever framing.

On one of his last series, he captures differently the beauty of it. Choosing mainly old religious buildings, he changed the method and breaks the pictures in different large frame to better enlighten its volume.

Either way, this is visually stunning…
