If you are in London, UK, you must go and see the Serpentine Pavilion in Hyde Park. This year, the pavilion is simply gorgeous. Designed by Counterspace and directed Sumayya Vally, it’s built of reclaimed steel, cork, timber covered with concrete, and took inspiration from migrants hotspots such as markets stalls in Whitechapel or domestics porches in Brixton. It is not big, but somehow, she managed to create a space which works for groups, medium size audiencebut also for one to one conversation with a friend. Lots of texture, pillars, lovely shades of pinks and browns which all expose even more the lush park around (and with the rain we had lately, the park is really green).
What a peaceful place (music was really cool too!).
